Full moon in Gemini this Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 8:08 pm PST on the west coast. This is our last full moon of 2022 and is a full moon out of bounds. This moon in Gemini may not play by the rules and we all get a chance to observe polarized situations. Oh yes, the old teeter-totter of life. Add the fact that Mercury, Mars and Venus are also out of bounds, and we have a rather feisty day or so upon us! Remember the myth of Icarus flying too close to the Sun and the message of hubris. The myth of Icarus fits this full moon.
Relationships, lovers, emotions, and passions are charged now with intensity. Schools may be on high alert or shifting schedules due to changeable elements, such as weather and disruptions. So be mindful of yourself within groups or conversations if you are feeling overwhelmed already. Be mindful of your children and their energy as they will have a greater challenge dealing with this energy emotionally. Outbursts and tantrums have super-powered energy at this full moon. The best solution is water or artist creativity to calm, as Pisces energy squares the full moon mix of Air and Fire elements. The energy will surely be on high, quite electric, and changeable! There can be conflict and violence with this mix as emotions run high. The desire to be free is amplified with Venus and the Sun in Sagittarius. The philosopher of your friend group will have ample words to share. The facts may be shared, but it will be important to consider how the facts are valued and thus have weighted meanings. There is risk for disagreement, and where one may fumble with poor choices of words which takes things off track. Mars is about midway through the degrees of Gemini of its retrograde cycle. This full moon I think feeling vulnerable is a good theme, especially around what surfaces in topics of conversation. Remain in a curious state as much as possible, it will be easier to navigate touchy subjects.
Mercury moved into Capricorn today (Dec 6 as I write this) at 2:08 pm PST (5:08 pm EST). Mercury in Capricorn is understated and can be guarded. Out of bounds really twists things up a bit within the need for order. With the other personal planets out of bounds, there will be more guarded responses in relationships. Too intense? This Mercury is conjunct Venus within about 4 degrees. Mercury in the feminine sign of Capricorn will actually be more focused that our experience within Sagittarius. The shift will be to consider the logical approach to appeal to someone, rather than philosophical or purely faith-based. Mercury in Capricorn will be measured and cautious ensuring it is not distracted from its goals and aspirations.
Jupiter is in Pisces at 29 degrees 8 minutes with Neptune now direct (as of December 3rd) at 22 degrees 38 minutes still adding a lot of power to the mix as a square to Venus at 27 degrees Sagittarius. The full moon at 16 degrees, Mars also at 16 degrees tightly conjunct with illumination from a Sagittarius Sun this is a really powerful mutable T-square. Given this time of year, this energy mix can add to the frazzle and overwhelm, the anxiety of too much, so it will be our job to separate ourselves from the noise, and quiet our minds and hearts when we need. An important added element here is our individual beliefs, thought patterns, perceptions, and how we communicate them consciously or unconsciously. The more conscious we are of a belief we hold we direct our lives with clarity of purpose. It is times like this coming full moon that we can find ourselves in an experience that sharply disrupts our patterns and we are face-to-face with an unconscious belief that we might want to re-evaluate with new awareness. There are ample opportunities for growth in our lives where we get to see in our flow the unconscious mind, ours, and others in our close circles, this full moon may hold such an invitation.
Saturn in Aquarius at 20 degrees is trine the Moon and Mars and sextile to the Sun. It may be the objective elder that has the maturity and experience of staying committed to something that holds the group and guides toward a meaningful common ground. Uranus in Taurus at 15 degrees retrograde is separated by 5 degrees from Saturn, they are still square but less intense than these two have been in the last few months. Though anyone with planets within this 5-degree range of Taurus and Aquarius (as well as Leo and Scorpio) can still feel charged up. The North Node in Taurus with Venus in Sagittarius may be feminine energy pursuing what it desires, but with some naivete that can be spontaneous if not a little wild. This Venus is taking on a new adventure, to playfully get curious with new desires and with it a new level of sensuality may open.
The South Node in Scorpio is the releasing, the surrendering, the purging. Mars co-rules Scorpio so this is a deep process with Mars retrograde in Gemini, thoughts, perceptions, and perhaps a daily diet of digital consumption of other’s beliefs and perceptions. What do you want to speak about? Do you give it space? Or are you still forming your thoughts on something life-changing? That aligns with this energy. Write it out. Keep a journal, a place where you can truly REFLECT away from the noise of the world. Your voice then will have room to expand and can then take flight when the time is right. First comes the shift within as you confront something that has surfaced in either thoughts or actual lived experience. Then a realization that your voice is unique, you get a new flicker of light about your own purpose. Do you sense it? It surely is getting activation this full moon.
What might you teach the world as you live your truth of being? As you evolve and individuate? Your authentic voice shared with one person can change someone’s life direction. With one simple statement, in one conversation among friends and acquaintances, a new found belief after much reflection and discernment for what is right for you can ignite the lights of a new runway for your life.
This is a ripe time of mutable energy. New paths and new life chapters emerge out of changing tides. And the tides are rapidly changing, new desires emerge when Mars stations direct January 12th at 8 degrees Gemini. With Pluto in late Capricorn at 26 degrees 57 minutes another significant cycle changes. Pluto is nearing the end of its run in the sign of Capricorn. In March 2023, the grand shift to Pluto in Aquarius comes within three days of the vernal equinox. The zero to 1st degree of Virgo will be a highly activated point at the spring equinox with Sun at zero Aries and Pluto at zero Aquarius 3 days later. The first degree of Virgo will be like a release valve of a yod. Have you considered how that may feel or be experienced for you? Mars will be at the 29th degree of Gemini. And Mercury at 7 degrees of Aries, in mutual reception with Mars. It will be such a dynamic ingress chart for Pluto.
Whatever house you have Aquarius in your nativity will have a significant transformative energetic power lift come spring. Early degrees of Leo will have a powerful opposition and possible identity shifts of great magnitude. Scorpio and Taurus early degrees will experience hard squares, crises, and pressures to manage (either opening square (Scorpio) or closing square (Taurus), so two different phases of perspective. For some, who have planets in both early Taurus and early Scorpio, Pluto sets up a dynamic enduring T-square. Over time as Pluto moves through Aquarius, it will change how we express this area of our lives forever. Where is Aquarius in your birth chart?
What is touched by Pluto is never the same after the transit. Not a holistically negative thing, but it can be experienced with losses. Hopefully, we grow as we light up the shadow parts of ourselves (collectively and individually) that are within the divine timing of the change. Pluto transits are about 18 to 24 months from beginning to end slowly we emerge after the deeply rooted process. Take time to reflect this much on as many things in your life as possible. Especially the growth you have experienced from the beginning of Pluto in Capricorn to now. Roughly since January 2008. How much change have you navigated? And then how have your beliefs changed from what you’ve experienced firsthand? It is time to take inventory, you will want your notes as we enter the next Pluto period. Thank heavens astrology guides us along our journey. We simply have to be willing to observe and consider the archetypes at play. Namaste. Bless this moment.
