Monday, September 22, 2025 11:19:04 am PDT was the beginning of a new season, the Autumnal equinox in the northern hemisphere. For the Pacific Northwest region the chart has the sun in Libra still in the 10th house of public presence and authority, personal perspective it is the house of recognition and career. Consider the powerful solar eclipse that occurred hours before the change of season. Each equinox and solstice are very important times of the year, but this changing season we had a solar eclipse occurring with the moon blocking out the sun’s light at the 29th degree of Virgo. Anything happening or sitting on the 29th degree of a sign is quite powerful and heavy on the dose of critical moments. The 29th degree symbolism is like this time you must get it right as a yield sign from the cosmos. We have a unique moment in history ourselves to address knowing the history that is similar over 90 years ago. We have perhaps a bigger problem that goes with this in our nation, because technology is rapidly advancing and our ability to have private lives is swiftly evaporating. This all goes in the astrology frame of Pluto in Aquarius, which I have mentioned will be in the sign for 20 years. It is a different era and requires new solutions, understanding Pluto is critical for how we may emerge from this with our humanity intact.
The autumnal equinox is often an additional chart that is used in predicting the themes of the coming next 3-6 months used together with the Aries ingress chart from March 20th. Each year mundane astrologers can read into the big events of the year through the Aries ingress chart. It’s quite useful to help us see the bigger themes and allow us a deeper view into our collective planetary energies by the countries we live (location) and what the charts indicate for us from that perspective. Here are two noteworthy Aries ingress discussions that you may want to review again. I also did a blog article on it, considering the themes of how they paint the picture knowing now what has transpired to date in our country.
Virgo is a sign of humble presence yet, it comes with the depth of skill and precision to cut through most any fluffy illusion. This autumnal equinox has the south node in Virgo, with Venus in Virgo as well and Mercury (ruling planet of Virgo) recently entered Libra. Venus rules Libra, so these two planets Mercury and Venus are in a state of “mutual reception”. The themes of Mercury and Venus (Virgo, Gemini and Libra, Taurus) are embedded a bit from this connection through mutual reception. Themes around mundane reality, every day needs, money, or money matters, nutrition, health, and relationships too. Look around what was released from your life during this solar eclipse in Virgo? It is likely to have a cross-over of themes from the planetary symbolism to the house which this eclipsed occurred for you personally.
You can see that Mars recently left Libra and is now in Scorpio. Mars in its own sign will now have more power for probing the dark corners and to bring both positive and negative manifestations. From the traditional astrology perspective, it is a negative. Evolutionary astrology looks at it from a different lens, more what is the purpose during the transit that may influence the need to turn that energy on in one’s focus for growth in evolutionary intentions. Studying both disciplines you can see both as true, it is a matter of perspective and the lens through which you may look when considering the symbolism. Mars by transit squares Pluto in Aquarius and is in an inconjunct aspect with Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Aries (and still Saturn in Aries). These energy aspects for Mars are challenging energy. Confusion is paramount with Neptune in Aries with a driving purpose that is spreading across boundaries (Saturn in Pisces). No one studying astrology should be surprised by the increasing tensions that are bound to be revolutionary in their outward expressions. The questions I think are interesting at this time are around how it may flow similarly from past themes (roughly 90 years ago) and how the energy will manifest now and in the coming few years. I have shared in past newsletters some thoughts on how the energetic pulses from the cosmos are similar to a few points in time (kind of like a cosmic planetary burrito rolled up touching this timeline), including the beginnings of our nation in 1775-1815 and again roughly in 1860-1865, and again in 1955-1975.
Jupiter in Cancer is an exalted placement (traditional astrology perspective). We have the benefit of that during this next year until Jupiter enters Leo, where there will be a stand-off between Jupiter in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius next year. Pluto always wins the face-off, and we will all be changed through some level of ego death when that takes place. Anyone of us that has not acknowledged the current situation will suffer more than those who have stepped into the zone of allowing deeper self assessment and relationship with truth. It can be frightening to consider 2026 and a few years into the future because there is no way but through it. How might you imagine a better world while Jupiter is in Cancer? Can you put it into words? Can you describe it? How might the laws be changed to support that vision? How might behaviors change to support that vision? Jupiter adds, what is is what is expanded. While it is in the sign of Cancer we are all (around the planet) considering our homes where we are nurtured, where we feel safe and secure. Though each country will express it collectively differently. When it is not felt every day, then we are in a collective dance with the shadow side of Jupiter in Cancer (for example our insecurity).
The United States has Jupiter in Cancer for July 1-4, 1776. There is still so much to learn about our collective identity, even in the astrology community there is disagreement on what chart to use for the founding of the United States. Many use July 4, 1776, but we must not forget the chart for July 1, 1776, when the colonies voted to separate from Great Britain, which put all of them at high risk of treason and death. It was a truly revolutionary moment, but they had a battle ahead of them to shake off the King. King George III was not going to give up on the colonies without a fight. You can glance at his chart here. Additional interesting details on King George III.
If you have not looked into the history of the United States lately, consider the themes of our founding fathers (of our first established government) and how those themes are echoed in the present moment. The timeline of the US Constitution is important to consider in what is up for our country in this transformation. It took about 5 years to ratify the US Constitution 1785-1791. Understanding these timelines of our founding fathers voting for independence, the Declaration of Independence (July 1776), and the US Constitution beginnings and ratification in the founding years of our nation are important in understanding themes now. We collectively are striving to be more independent just as our ancestors did ~250 years ago. (The time of a Pluto transit around the sun). Other times also share similar themes, which will be addressed in later blogs.
The solar eclipse that occurred at 29 degrees Virgo activated a generation of individuals who were born with Pluto in Virgo (and Uranus in Virgo), that is GenX. Some GenX also have Saturn in Pisces, or Chiron in Pisces in the opposite sign. This is a moment of transformation and the rebel cry (starts internally first) to purge and eliminate (might happen with nutrition first for the body, but the cosmic weather will ask more. It will ask for transformation of the collective too, in some way, as there is a necessity at hand to bring harmony back to the environment and home. Mercury in Libra, as the messenger pointing out what’s important and where to focus. This includes resources and food, because Venus is in Virgo. There is also symbolism that there may be food scarcity or challenges with losses as Venus is applying to the south node in Virgo. Considering the challenges to safe food right now, it can lead to a terrible flow through with lack of proper and timely information on any food recalls that are important for the public. Uranus is in Gemini showing the volatility of messaging and communications. However, Uranus will return to Taurus in this retrograde on November 7, 2025, when it will have its finishing themes for Taurus (money, food, distribution channels, currencies, property, possession and value of some assets). The north node in Pisces is the direction we are called. Jupiter as co-ruler with Neptune in Aries, we are on the precipice of a new era! Neptune begins a new chapter with Saturn late February 2026, on the 20th. We are within about 5 months of that new era, but will it be that we must start it with a radical movement? It may be, we are lining up to that reality. How will it transpire? In Aries and when Uranus leaves to Taurus, but when Uranus returns to Gemini may be the timing of shifts. We have a lot of activity prior to that moment. This eclipse included an opposition to Saturn in Pisces (the opposing forces with confusion, and that is its purpose coming from authorities). It may be important to ask ourselves why. Why would confusion be the purpose of authority figures in power? Or on the flip-side, why would the authority figures fall into their own confusion? That is also true, it is part of the mix of planetary symbolism. The solar eclipse has a few events wrapped into it. It is a sensitive topic, so I am going to be doing a little on that through my upcoming private community (stay tuned).
As I have mentioned in recent blog posts this year is full of endings that kick us into a new chapter of life. We are challenged and have the opportunity to purge old beliefs and ideas, and refresh those we value. It is a good time to take care of yourself and your loved ones with intentional actions, as your loved ones are cared for then your care can reach farther into the community. Love is always the answer for where we may frame our lived experiences. Namaste. Bless this moment.
