Today is November 24th, and tomorrow is a full moon in Gemini at 3 degrees 20 minutes. Our sun moved into Sagittarius two days ago moving from the deep waters of Scorpio into the fire of Sagittarius. With this full moon in Gemini, the restless energy may be felt more definitively. This full moon is in opposition to Saturn transiting through Sagittarius. The full moon is exact at 2:44 PM Pacific Time on November 25th. With Saturn at 6 degrees in opposition there are bound to be experiences that oppose or limit our thinking or physical movement. With those with natal planets in early mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Picses this full moon would be felt much stronger. Saturn in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces will be square exact on Thanksgiving day here in the US at 4:15 AM PT, putting a dose of limitation or restriction (Saturn) with illusion or escape (Neptune) or overcrossing boundaries. What hot topics might be best avoided over the dinner table this holiday? Or be aware of the challenge that escapism may cause with your relationships, all these seem pointed at this time. Mercury, the ruler of the full moon (Gemini) also conjunct Saturn in transit today at 6 degrees which is squaring Neptune will have the potential of deception or disillusionment, technology may also cause you some troubles, a perfect combination for “false reality”, or things not as they seem or appear. Be careful or mindful of smoke and mirrors in what is presented to you from the media or a talkative relative or friend!
Where do you turn for guidance for understanding what is real and what isn’t? This energy combination will challenge your thoughts on what is real. Dreams can be more prominent and may also be difficult too. Saturn in Sagittarius is heightening awareness of foreigners and laws and borders (Syrian refugees, Paris, Beruit, Mali, and today’s news of Turkey shooting a Russian war jet down) and squaring Neptune in Pisces (the humanitarian, boundless (no boundaries), escapism, disillusionment (perhaps of safety in borders) as well as exposing many wounds that speak to these same themes from times past, Nazi Germany and refugees then, American Japanese internment and our shame as a country, I could go on but you get my point. There are several social media memes on the irony of us celebrating Thanksgiving here in the US, a holiday where “we were once refugees from Great Britain several hundred years ago sitting in thanks with Native Americans in feast, and now would be denying in the masses (several states) the approval or entry of Syrian refugees (Afghanistan too I think) to escape the terror of their homeland at present. This is only the first square of Saturn and Pisces. We have a total of three exact squares over the next year. Here are the dates of the Saturn and Neptune square: November 26, 2015 at 7 degrees, June 17, 2016 at 12 degrees and September 10, 2016 at 10 degrees. If you have any planets in the mutable signs within these degrees the square aspect transit will be more deeply felt for you. Jupiter rules BOTH Sagittarius and Pisces and will play a role from the rulership, so here are a few more things to keep in mind at this time. Law is 9th house Sagitarrius as well as Higher Learning, there may be some “coming to Jesus” moments of truth and maybe into the legal process during this time. The airlines for long haul travel will also likely face some challenges, which I do believe we are already beginning to see with the high alerts sent out today from the US government for travel safety given the recent violence in Paris, Beruit, Mali and what is happening in Belgium too. The travel over the Thanksgiving holiday is suppose to be incredibly high here in the US, 46.9 million are expected to travel more than 50 miles over the holiday weekend from their home. Travel by air may not be the only place of congestion for folks traveling.
Perhap more significant at this point in time is facing our inner fears that drive us to seek escape through some form (social media, alcohol, food, over consumption of all sorts). What are we NOT wanting to face head-on? Is it time for self reflection and thorough inner work on the issue that we really don’t want to deal with it because it would force us to own our wounds and heal them? Take a moment to be in silence for your own harmony, for your own connection to life and there is likely to be a treasure waiting for you. Start the conversation with a list of what you are grateful for in the present moment, wherever you are at and then see where the silence takes you. Blessings to all this week! -Sarrah
