Early tomorrow morning, May 15, 2018 at 4:48 am Pacific Daylight Time we have a new moon in the sign of Taurus. At 24 degrees 36 minutes Taurus we begin a new lunar cycle. This new moon is loaded with punch and energy as Uranus is within a minute prior to the ingress into Taurus and Mars is square the Uranus from Capricorn at 29 Capricorn 43 minutes. Mars enters Aquarius tomorrow at May 16th at 12:03 am PDT. This is a lot of energy in fixed sign with significant tension and high voltage. Mars ingress into Aquarius would along be significant, but with the Uranus ingress at 8:23 am PDT there’s a significant load of complex energy at the beginning of the fixed signs. Uranus ingress to Taurus as shared in my earlier post will be in the sign of Taurus for 7-8 years. (Finally leaving Taurus in April 26, 2026). Looking at the new moon chart, we may collectively see one last dramatic Uranus in Aries revolutionary or sudden event that is symbolized by Mars (the ruler of Aries) in square in the end degrees of Capricorn through Wednesday just after midnight here on the west coast. There are three hours 35 minutes between the new moon and the Uranus ingress to Taurus. Is there a last hurrah for Uranus in Aries and Mars in Capricorn? Both in cardinal signs, I would say yes, theirs is strong probability we will have some experience that touches us collectively to consider within these energies of Aries and Capricorn. They may be related to our environment and even potentially something we value that sparks us from the observation and even our response to new insights. Uranus is a transpersonal planet, Mars a personal planet, we may something that opens dynamically that has an enduring quality such as symbolized by Mars has in Capricorn. Is in our infrastructure? Our systems? Our government? These are potentials that could manifest something for us to consider at this brief moment before the “changing of the guard” for both Uranus and Mars these next two days. I dare say that accidents can happen in this combination, so I would say be mindful of where you step and how you drive!
The new moon is always a moment I consider planting seeds for the future. I like to explore the Sabian symbols at the new moon for deeper insights about the moment and what the image has to offer us. With this new moon the Sabian symbol is 25 degrees Taurus, which says, “A large well-kept public park.” I think of this symbolism as tending the space for everyone, yet one doesn’t often see the one who tends it and keeps it that way for the public. Blain Bovee notes, “As the individual practices, paying focused attention to what may seem to others of minute detail of little consequence, the human collective benefits from the self-less care. If you’re ready for something, tend to the underlying conditions of fertile nurturance. If you are re-assessing your affections, pull back with gentleness and attention to delicate feelings….as one would remove debris from the stem root of a developing flower.” I loved Blaine’s thoughts on this Sabian symbol. This image says so much about how we take the action that gets into the finer qualities of life that when we do them the balance and serenity are available to us in the space we’ve created. Every relationship goes through periods of clearing the debris to refresh our connection or even direction that take our love bonds deeper, not just because it has been a certain amount of time, but because we noticed something within our relationship that needed our focus, and we took the time and courage to address it. By doing the work of talking about and sharing areas we want to better in our life with others we give not only ourselves a grace of new breath and new life, but also to the those we open our hearts to that we tend as we do a garden through observation, connection and love. This image of clearing debris does have the potential to open space in our hearts. When we do it creates a vacuum that when open the universe likes to bring in something you’ve not experienced yet and new level of perspective. This reminds me of another scene in a movie I love Eat, Pray, Love when the character Richard from Texas tells Liz (he nicknamed her Groceries)– “If you clear out all that space in your mind that you’re using right now to obsess, you’ll have a vacuum there, an open spot – a doorway. And guess what the universe will do with that doorway? It will rush in, God will rush in, and fill you with more love than you ever dreamed.”
Taurus a feminine sign, ruled by Venus does highlight our love and our awareness of our love-ability. Venus is at 25 Gemini 8 minutes in this new moon chart, 2nd house for those of us on the west coast. Venus is applying to a sextile with Uranus in Aries and inconjunct with Mars. Excited by the Uranus impulse, but on different chords with Mars and out of sync. Saturn is Capricorn retrograde at 8 degrees 33 minutes rules Capricorn and with Pluto at 21 degrees 9 minutes of Capricorn the powerful transformative Pluto is in a trine with this new moon in Taurus, offering us something that will be helping us ground this dynamic energy kick that comes in tomorrow. Pluto is the more elevated planet in the chart for the west coast, I wonder about leadership and authority during this month that are visible and provide a mirror of stable approach to something that may be very dynamic for us all. Neptune and Jupiter are in a trine as well from Pisces and Scorpio. Neptune at 16 degrees Pisces 10 minutes and Jupiter retrograde at 17 degrees Scorpio 32 minutes. The aspect between Jupiter and Neptune can be twofold one we may lean towards escapism in an addiction, but we are just as able to create something beautiful that helps us surface something we find difficult to write or speak of directly. Painting, photography, film, sculpting and drawing — anything that lets you manifest the images of your mind coupled with your heart’s feeling that only these mediums or a specific set of colors may be able to bring to life are how we touch Jupiter in Scorpio flowing with ease with Neptune in Pisces.
Mercury at 3 degrees Taurus 5 minutes is applying to Saturn in Capricorn again the emphasis of being grounded, feeling what’s going on within our bodies and our perceptions and thinking. It all comes together, and we see that no matter what chaos may come in moments of our lives, when we can bring them into our lives, integrate them into our experience we more fully experience it is to be human, mind, spirit and body. We must remember to take time to integrate our experiences and really connect with the finer details of our individual lives as well as how we are part of a much larger symphony of life. It is where we come to know our purpose and it is where we find the rich meaning of our existence.
