New Moon in Taurus 
Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 12:31 pm PDT is the new moon in the earth sign of Taurus. This month there is a tension that plays out from the T-square tension of the new moon, sun with Mars in Leo, at 4 degrees which is opposite Pluto in Aquarius at 3 degrees 48”. The Sabian symbol for 8 Taurus of this new moon illuminates more about the challenges which may also present opportunities this month, the symbol is ‘A sleigh without snow. Essentially this symbol notes to put in the grunt work heavy stuff now so later on it will be easier. Mars in Leo is active and we all may feel and act more feisty than usual, find ways to burn the energy physically in hard work. Mars in Leo can also show up with the desire to be the boss. If you are gardening as spring continues to warm the earth, doing the hard work, endurance of long days now will pay off in the coming months. Taurus is a fixed sign, as well as Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. So much energy in fixed signs can show up as stubborn resistance, and yet Pluto in Aquarius is transformational. Uranus in Taurus at 26 degrees can be activated by the moon within the first day of the new moon as the moon transits over that degree. It can activate unexpected expenses, supply channels (note how this is challenged right now with the tariffs), and currencies can have more volatility.
Venus in Pisces (exalted) at 28 degrees is now separating from Saturn at 27 Pisces. Venus is still moving through degrees it has already moved through before the retrograde cycle. Recall Venus’ retrograde cycle started back on March 1st at 10 degrees of Aries then stationed direct at 24 degrees Pisces on April 12th. Venus will enter Aries again on April 30th. Venus will move beyond the degree of the start of its retrograde (10 deg Aries) on May 15th. Venus is the planet that is tied to symbolism around our values and how we humans translate that into currency and money. Venus and Saturn in Pisces with the north node may bring new commitments that have financial and creative elements. Venus transiting through Pisces is renewing something from its retrograde cycle, so this next week there may be a sense of moving forward on something that has been in process since early March. Another perspective of Venus and Saturn in Pisces is the planetary combination that can bring together vision with a timely plan of realization. Saturn is the structure, the consideration of time, and what elements (structure) and the devotion to realize it.
Mercury in Aries is likely noted with the feisty conversations you have had this last week and the shorter fuse to disengage than usual. How many times have you spoken out loud something that has completely frustrated you? How many times have you had to cool down from the seemingly extra noise of children? Maybe it has only been more tension with driving around the streets of your city. Perhaps you have made a mental note to limit your screen time too, because what you find online can also create too much tension, even though it may also stimulate you to take action. With any of these scenarios, Mercury in Aries is out and loud right now for you however it shows up.
Mars is where we engage our will, Mars is nearly beyond the point of its retrograde that began on December 6th from Leo to Cancer and now completing the last degrees of the previously transited of Leo. Recall Mars stationed retrograde on December 6, 2024 at 6 degrees 11’ of Leo. Mars will move beyond that point in the heavens early May 2nd (just 30 minutes after midnight in PDT). Something that you considered in December but has taken several months may finally near a completion. When Mars completes the transit and finally goes beyond the degree to which it had started the retrograde there may be a realization of the energy it took to get to this present moment.
Jupiter in Gemini at 20 degrees 44 minutes adds to the collective curiosity and the possible shaking-the-tree of exploring something new and gathering all the various facts. We are about 6 weeks away from Jupiter’s ingress into Cancer, a sign of its exaltation (thrives). While Jupiter has been in Gemini how has growth and new directions in life required two perspectives and additional learning to understand something to move forward? Many experience Jupiter in Gemini with some chaos or feeling scattered. The task for how to work with the energy for growth can show up in abundance when Jupiter is in Cancer is taking the steps to learn, consider different options that will help future growth, which sometimes may include movement of resources, and maybe your own movement. Consider how a farmer who grows strawberries will manage growth of the plants from first year, second and third year and how to care the plants for greater yields requires management and clipping off the runners that strawberries put out in its 2nd year (the first of yield), through proper management of that second thing there is true abundance. If unkept or mismanaged the strawberry patch gets out of control! Knowledge is part of the process, because there may be new information that directs us on the path of abundance. Another example is pruning a fruit bearing tree. When you prune hard it gives the tree the push for new growth which will push the tree to produce high yields. In the next month and a week consider what else you may need to know and understand for where you are inspired to grow.
Neptune in Aries adds something new to your visions for the future. What has emerged since March 30th that you had not thought of before for what you might wish to add to the vision of your life and experiences? Has life stimulated changes for you that has opened up your intuition and perhaps sharpened your instincts? Neptune in Aries is touching on something new within us all at this time. It is so new we may not even be able to name it, at least not yet. It may feel like a presence of consciousness that is more in the moment, like our intuitive sensitivities are more alert, an aliveness that is in flow. Letting go, yet fully awakened in each moment our senses pulling in more of our connected lives.
Pluto in Aquarius is the constant march forward of change that we are participating in, especially with our relationships collectively in technology in our lives and how we work together to ensure our rights in the future. We all must do our part to ensure our right to privacy and fairness in a digital world. This is a unique time in history as we work together to change what we can together, and when we realize our power together we create change with speed that may surprise us all.
