Mercury may ignite it all as it continues retrograde motion, at 20 degrees Libra at this new moon. Mars is cazimi the sun late Thursday night and early Friday. It will be interesting to observe the flow while the moon is still in Libra Thursday early morning just after 7:00 am PDT before the moon makes the ingress to Scorpio. Certainly, next week Halloween decorations and ideas for festivities are sure to get some attention. This new moon has plenty of air, with Jupiter retrograde at 22 in Aquarius making a trine to the Libra stellium of the moon, sun, Mars, Mercury.
Mercury and the moon will activate a few key planetary aspects to pay attention to in your own experience. First Mercury will connect with the Moon in Libra exactly 2:39 pm PDT on October 6th (today) which may send a few folks in different directions on what they think is right or wrong, or feeling the pull to be on some side of an issue, remember it is best to consider the situation from both sides that is important and is part of the “mood” with the Moon in Libra. Ask yourself, what is the compromise? It may be a simple conversation to re-set the schedule of meeting so everyone can have their equal time or enough time to share the dialog in meaningful exchange. It takes some time to ensure everyone is heard. Libra is the sign of compromise and harmony, when people take time to consider the full picture, listening to both sides, or all sides, then everyone can be considered and addressed towards a more holistic and balanced outcome for whatever is desired. While Mercury is retrograde use a pencil for your calendar if you still write on one. You are likely to be reconfiguring your priorities with more focus on a close relationship, though there will be competing time from others as well and it has a higher probability of having a few disruptions to your usual routine.
Venus in Scorpio is 28 degrees is in mutual reception with Mars in Libra, even though they are exchanging information we will find that there is a challenge. This can be like two people begrudgingly moving toward the middle. Mars in Libra may be too direct within an important negotiation, though if willing to listen with the whole body there will be a better connection with the feminine energy within the exchange. Venus in Scorpio can pick up the jealous vibe, or trust issues may come to the fore, but with effort, there’s a chance to be vulnerable yet strong because being able to open your heart creates bonds that carry us in our heavier moments. Venus in Scorpio brings a depth of awareness and compassion if focused on the highest response. If there has been inner work done in awareness growth that creates heart space that energy can be shared. While the moon is in Scorpio with Venus there is potential to dive into intense subject matters, it may be scary to wade into the emotions, but it might open new doors to parts of yourself that needed some light and an intimate moment to be expressed.
Jupiter in the fixed sign Aquarius at 22 degrees is in an easy flow with this new moon, with Mars, but more tightly configured in the trine with Mercury. Mercury retrograde motion through October 18th when it stations direct at 10 degrees at 8:17:46 am PDT, just two days before the full moon. When Mercury stations direct it will be in an easy flow with Saturn in Aquarius at 6 degrees.
Saturn at this new moon is 6 degrees Aquarius and retrograde. Saturn is moving slowly, so it dominates the energy in this new moon chart, simply for the speed at which it presently moving. It is nearly standing still from our perspective. This will intensify our experience on the social distancing measures and restrictions from authority figures as we have experienced at various intervals with Saturn in Aquarius. It is always the most powerful when slowing for the station retrograde, or direct as it is doing next week on Monday. Saturn stations direct on October 11th. Commitments can be stronger when Saturn stations direct when it is not yet in motion in the heavens from our viewpoint. Saturn will square Uranus one more time at the end of the year December 23, 2021. It will be another crisis point that will slowly begin to fade out in 2022. Saturn this month may be a good time to focus on group projects and your discipline to a collaborative effort, it is a good way to align with the archetypal energy available.
Uranus at this new moon is in Taurus at 14 degrees. You may have observed news stories already reporting on supply and distribution channels for products and the chance to have various items unavailable again when we expect them. Be wise, shop earlier and consider your essential needs. Uranus is the unexpected, so there is a chance that as we move closer to Christmas and end-of-year holidays this will be experienced more acutely. With Saturn and Uranus in their last third quarter square, there is a continued cosmic tuning fork refiguring some of our conditioned response to the world as we have come to know it. We are still “under reconstruction”, so be patient with life and find your flow.
Neptune in Pisces at this new moon is at 21 degrees and retrograde. Neptune is making a trine, easy flow with Venus in Scorpio at this new moon. It opens gates for deep imagination, deeper intimacy if you feel safe to venture towards deepening your bond through sexual connections with your chosen partner. The energy is creative, serious, and dreamy. It might be an excellent time to explore new independent movies with these themes that may open conversations with your lover. It is also energy for escaping into your temptations and desires, so be mindful of your choices. When Venus enters Sagittarius on Thursday, the energy shifts again, and the feminine will desire freedom!
Pluto in Capricorn is at 24 degrees. Pluto and Uranus are the only planets in earth signs, but not necessarily grounding for us much, rather the mix is more about changes, disruptions, and long-term changes that will not return from where they originated. Steadily moving toward the USA’s Pluto return coming in late February 2022.
It is worth mentioning that Chiron in Aries at 10 degrees is opposite this new moon in Libra. Oppositions are intense, though separated by three degrees from the moon and the Sun at the moment of the new moon it still is tight in opposition to keep in mind. There will be sensitivity to “being seen” or having the right to exist for some that get magnified for people depending on what planets or angles they have near 10 degrees of any cardinal sign, but especially for Libra and Aries. What do you do to be more present with life, allowing your voice to be heard? Are you acting with energy that supports your right to be you and not overshadowed? This theme connects with Chiron archetype in Aries.
May this month you find new depth in your closest personal relationship, as well as meaningful rich experiences that bring harmony to your life. It is in relationships that we learn the most about ourselves, more than anything else on earth. We grow because each relationship brings us something new to discover about ourselves. You could say that your relationships are sacred ground, it is where so much of what we come to understand is made visible in our simple yet complex relating. Bless this moment. Namaste.
