Happy Fall Equinox Everyone! The Sun entered the sign of Libra today (September 22nd) at 6:04 pm PDT. Happy Birthday month to all Sun Libras! The season is changing, I’m sure many of you have felt the crisp cool air in the mornings and evenings. Everywhere the beginning signs of fall colors emerge on the leaves. I love this time of year, even though it can feel a little bit rushed for harvesting from the garden, This season starts off with a balsamic moon, and so with that, there is a natural flow for withdrawing and pausing until after the new moon in a few days for starting anything new. For this newsletter, I will focus more on the new moon that is coming in just a few days.
This Sunday, September 25, 2022, there is a new moon in Libra at 2 degrees 48 minutes. This new moon is opposite retrograde Jupiter at 3 degrees 48 minutes Aries. Jupiter is retrograde, so the pull of expansion can be towards the inner world, the part of us that creates from an attitude of individuality that only your higher self understands the importance of our unique voice and presence in this complex world. Jupiter in opposition to the new moon can also feel like the need to jump into some adventure, or higher learning that has been pressing from within your heart, mind, and soul to explore with enthusiasm for how it fills your soulful desire to learn more, experience more, and add to your wisdom. Another way to see this Jupiter in Aries is how it intensifies the opposites of Aries (freedom to be an individual) and Libra (new moon/Sun needing insights for balance in partnerships) this may be a period of time where relationships are exaggerated on the differences for individual needs within many relationships.
Mars is still in Gemini (and will continue for many months as it will go retrograde (on October 30th), so there is tension for communications and travels as well for some. Mars at 18 degrees Gemini at the New Moon is in a trine aspect with serious Saturn in Aquarius. Uranus at 18 degrees 30 minutes of Taurus is squaring Saturn at 19 degrees 11 minutes. The North Node at 15 degrees Taurus is conjunct Uranus about 3 degrees separation, so still rather strong for Taurus energy getting the potential surprises from this close orb with Uranus. For the Tri-Cities, and the west coast the lunar nodes and Uranus are in an angular house (4th) and the south node is prominent in the 10th house. Public spaces have a lot of Mars and Pluto energy that can be public spaces with accidents or unexpected detours. There is a trine of water energy between Black Moon Lilith, Juno, and the south node in Scorpio. The release valve on this trine touches into the shadow awareness of feminine principles with these two. You might explore how the shadow of the feminine presents this month, keep notes in your journal and consider what wants to be healed or liberated with new love and acceptance within the self.
Venus in Virgo at 25 degrees 44 minutes is separating from its opposition with Neptune at 23 degrees in Pisces. Which can come into our experience as idealism and perfection related to relationships and even our standards of beauty. It may also be the desire to be touched by beauty in a way that fringes on perfection. Neptune in opposition is the healthy reminder that to be touched and inspired by beauty in a multitude of forms can be a powerful illusion. The shift away from Neptune for Venus can be the realization that an illusion has shifted and another truth of reality breaks open. Neptune is beyond our control, where we are swept up into something bigger than us, and only when the energy is released away from the exact aspect can one discern how powerful it may be felt. Therefore, it is always beneficial to know when Neptune is tightly aspected with any planet, especially when it is your ruling planet.
The pull with so many planets retrograde right now is into the inner world. There is a pause on so much in our external world, how many things in your life from work, family, relationships, and more are paused in some manner? It is not a time to push hard to go forward. It is a good time for reflection, pondering how you feel, and what comes from quiet meditations or writing in personal journals. Some answers that are desired will not really “reveal” until after Mercury stations and then moves beyond the sun. It is a good time to listen for universal messages. Mercury stations direct in Virgo on October 2nd at 2:07 am PDT. Mercury is at 27 degrees 32 retrograde at the new moon. Mercury will re-enter Libra on October 10th just a day after the full moon in Aries on October 9th at 16 degrees 33 minutes. The full moon on October 9th will be within 2 degrees of Chiron at 14 degrees 40 minutes (Aries) retrograde, drawing our attention to the wounded self-related to our individual expression.
Pluto at 26 degrees 09 minutes in Capricorn is in a trine with both Venus and Mercury as well as the New moon and Sun in Libra and widely with Jupiter in Aries. Transformation potentials from the inner world perspective. Perhaps updated knowledge brings new a-ha moments about what it means for you for a balanced way of being with yourself and others that only comes through deep reflection. Humans need ample time to integrate new understandings, new habits that create new points of view, and new centers of awareness within the balance of the Self and its eternal wisdom and then what we learn in relationships for our growth as well. It is a lot of feedback to integrate! It takes time, so no rush, everything is in its divine time, just like our seasons that unfold and flow like waves of varying temperatures and colors across the landscape.
May this autumnal equinox be a moment of reflection for you and that you give yourself permission to pull back, withdraw and reflect on all matters of life that feed your soul. Integrate your new realizations in rituals after the new moon has light on it, for now, it is the quiet space of observation, simple daily living, and taking a pause before new ideas are given energy into action. Namaste. Bless this moment.
