Here on the west coast at 1:31 AM PDT, if you’re still awake, check out the full moon, this June 17, 2019. This full moon has a little reprieve for us as the Moon is in Sagittarius at 25 degrees 53 minutes and optimistic Jupiter nearby at 18 degrees 37 minutes retrograde. Jupiter and Neptune were in an exact square earlier this morning just about 6:31 AM PDT. With Neptune square Jupiter and so close this full moon there is a high chance today has been a bit more laid back, dreamy or having fun with images – going to the movies, taking photos of colorful landscapes, or creating art through a variety of means. Ideas may have surfaced in your leisure time that you may consider later, writing them down for future action when you have space to make it real. Life may give us a brief reprieve but only for a couple days (yesterday and today) before the moon moves into Capricorn on Sunday at 9:14 AM PDT. The mood will change again to feel the labor and duty upon our shoulders from the responsibilities that loom large on us now. Mars in Cancer is at 20 degrees 41 minutes and recently conjunct Saturn and separating. Mars is now applying to intense Pluto by opposition, where Pluto is at 22 degrees Capricorn 31 minutes retrograde. Mars will be exactly opposite Pluto on Wednesday, June 19th at 7:51 PM PDT. The energy is powerful, with the nearness of Saturn and the south node to Pluto in Capricorn this opposition is the most volatile of the year. Depending on where you have Capricorn and Cancer in your chart will be where you experience this intensity as an individual. Capricorn is about the traditional way of doing things, systems and infrastructure, but also power (Pluto) and (Saturn) authority and failure or losses of some kind if we consider the south node. The south node of the moon is a releasing, the exhale. We are likely to see something collective related to these themes.
Mars, Mercury and the north node of the moon in Cancer are about home, family, our security at home and within ourselves, where we are nurtured and protected. Mars in Cancer is akin to a warrior protecting his home and family, but it can also be emotionally driven. Mercury in Cancer acts as a trigger too, but Mercury in Cancer enhances the quality of feeling about what is being said, what images and thoughts arise from these desires to protect and emotions that may be rising from axis between public life, public systems and what we need to feel safe. It really can come to a blow for some people. Heated emotional outbursts are a high potential when unconscious about what is going on in our environment and what we let into our safe zone (home) which includes our mental health (Mercury). It might be a tough week. How’re your Epsom salts and essential oils inventory for a bath or two this week? The next couple of weeks while Mars is still moving through the sign of Cancer will be incredibly tense and for some life altering with dynamic changes. When Mars finally moves into Leo around July 1 we will see a shift, but Mercury will get there first before going retrograde next month. Next month I’ll be writing about Mars in Leo applying to a square with Uranus the planet of chaos and liberation, but we have plenty to handle for the most intense energy combinations of the year the rest of June. Anyone born with late degrees of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) are feeling this intensity and will feel the heaviness in the work and expectations from life. Those with mutable signs in the middle degrees are feeling the Neptune and Jupiter square as well and feeling wiped out in some manner or finding it rather challenging to stay in one spot or concentrate when they know they need to act on something important. It can be a challenge for those with planets and angles at 18 degrees (or nearby) of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) to nail it down right now. Dreams and urges to travel or live in another country either are dominant or feel so good thinking about the options you’re losing track of the reality of here and now, but perhaps that prompted the dreaming in the first place.
Venus is in the sign of Gemini catching up to the sun. Venus is applying to the Jupiter and Neptune square creating a T-Square, with Neptune as the focal planet occurring on June 22 and 23rd. During those same days though, the moon will be in Pisces making it high time for escapism or good days for artistic endeavors with anything of a mutable form like water, sand, paper and similar. The north node is in a nice trine aspect with Neptune at this time of June. Keep in mind that Neptune is boundless energy. It symbolizes dissolution, no boundaries, that which has been held back by some boundary may cease to be and that can also create problems for us who need a boundary to hold.
Uranus in Taurus is pushing through but not the big story this month compared to the planetary aspects I’ve written above. Keep in mind next month it will be back online as Mercury and Mars enter Leo.
May the edges of the difficult transits be softened by the brief relief from Jupiter and Venus to keep you going forward in the weeks ahead. Keep your eye on a milestone and keep going. Like anything else, this too shall pass, but remember there are grace periods. Namaste. Bless this moment.
