Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11:40 am PDT (2:40 PM EDT) we’ll have a full moon in the sign of Aries at 12 degrees 43 minutes. Mars the ruler of this full moon is conjunct Venus in Virgo starting a new two year cycle. Mars in Virgo can take many forms, perhaps in the forms of new relationship, one that has the gift of revealing the inner critic, or the vigorous need to clean or even an obsession with the finest details and logic. It may find a path through analytical pursuits with colleagues. There may be an inclination for opportunism with these two lovers coming together in a new cycle. The new cycle starts at 19 degrees Virgo. These two applying to a square of Saturn in Sagittarius within mutable signs can also spell difficulties in commitments and even heated exchange over truths, philosophy or religion. I also think it can be challenging combination for a project that is coming up against authority that may be a serious road block to see it to completion. Perhaps it demands a deeper review. The full moon in Aries is lighting up what is changing (cardinal). There’s an ‘individual’ versus ‘other’ focus with Aries and Libra in this full moon, where do you feel the tug between your individual self and your lover or spouse or even business partner? Is there something that must be addressed to regain a proper balance for your individuality? For your relationship to be successful? These are within the realm of potentials of this full moon. As this moon wanes, you may find yourself releasing some things that are not working for you. Perhaps you’ll find yourself surrendering into the moment of grief. Aries full moon is about action and bravery, and as I write this article stories are coming to light from this recent moment of terror at the Harvest Music Festival where strangers helped others, to save a life or to simply hold another’s hand in their final moments before death. Mercury conjunct the sun in Libra at the time of this full moon in Aries is inconjunct Neptune in Pisces (150 degrees apart), a tension and disconnected energy between our perceptions and thinking with respect to others and our individuality. Jupiter is finishing it’s time in Libra and will be heading into Scorpio on October 11th for the next year bringing an expansion into the depths of intimacy, sexuality, deep emotional connections and experiences. I’ll be expanding on the Jupiter in Scorpio in another article. With Mars being in focus as this moon becomes full in Aries it emphasizes our actions and with that cause and effect made visible. Will it be an evaluation of consequences or conscious filled intentional moves? Your choice. Until the new moon, remember every day is a good day to meditate. A prayer for mindful actions that guide you along your path.
