The Full Moon in Capricorn is Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 11:37 am PDT. This full moon will be intensified with its close proximity to Pluto in Capricorn. Many people with planets and angles at the latter degrees of cardinal signs (Capricorn-Cancer and Aries-Libra) will notice the dynamic energy. Cardinal energy is all about the initiating energy, it is passionate, dynamic, and breaking through like a surge of energy. This cardinal Capricorn full Moon is also with Mercury in Cancer (about 3 degrees from the Sun in Cancer). This moon is an out-of-bounds moon, as well as Mercury! Black Moon Lilith and Ceres also going beyond the ecliptic of the Sun amplying the energetic flow. The struggle with emotional heaviness is real! Find your center, go to the stillness, the place where we all may release this tension.
Mercury with the Sun opposite the Moon-Pluto conjunction creates tension of authority and our sense of security, our perceptions and awareness. This cardinal energy is exaggerated and pushes on our moods with heaviness and an anxious sense of urgency to raise our white flags to find reprieve. This energy exaggerates our soul’s need for nourishment or comfort but we will be unsatisfied with what he can reliably contain. Our collective souls are stressed at this lunation just as we crave harmony with a Sun in Cancer. The Cancer shells will be shutting down tight for wherever you have Cancer in your chart. Capricorn is the container of transformation, as it is inner-focused in so many ways (such as the desire for perfection, the Moon itself to Saturn retrograde, to Mercury in Cancer behind the Sun, and Chiron square from Aries on the identity). Whatever is manifesting for us this full moon it takes us beyond our comfort zone, and maybe just downright sad! If we are not diligent with our subtle needs to retreat, we can upset the balance. Truly, you can call it a “disturbance in the force” if you like, it fits.
Chiron at 16 degrees Aries 25 minutes, the wounded healer is square tightly with Mercury-Sun conjunction, and the Moon-Pluto conjunction. Jupiter is widely conjunct Chiron, amplifying this combination that may surface the most sensitive areas of our psyche about our visibility as individuals. Chiron in Aries wounds are uniquely about our identity, the wound related to being required to act within a group mind, anything in that nature. But even more, it is the wound of the identity of our unique individuality, perhaps from an experience of abandonment, being looked over, once seen but then disregarded, the idea that you are not permitted to be your own person, without judgment.
Venus is in Gemini at 24 degrees 42 minutes and is separating from the trine aspect with Saturn retrograde at 24 degrees 5 minutes of Aquarius. This is a more flowing mental energy between fixed ideas and commitments and the rapport-building Venus that will want to connect and talk about everything and anything. The conversations may dip into the feelings and be the rub on our sensitive feeling natures too. It may be fun to brainstorm to move towards this mental energy, but it will be best to wait to execute on it until Mercury is cazimi the sun in Cancer on July 17th, exact at 12:38 pm PDT, at 24 degrees Cancer 15 minutes. The Mercury cazimi Sun period starts just after 7:00 am PDT and lasts within the 17 minutes of arc of applying or separating until approximately 6:30 pm PDT. This cazimi may bring some interesting manifestations forward with the Moon conjunct Pluto, again bringing the topic of women’s rights to their choice as human rights and themes like the authority of the Supreme Court into the spotlight, likely from the lower vibration of these extremes manifesting.
Mercury is visible again in the evening skies around August 1st, maybe a day or so sooner depending on where you are located. At that time Mercury will be in the latter degrees of Leo (opposite Saturn in Aquarius!). If you are a person with a Mercury-ruled (rising signs Gemini, Virgo), or your Moon or Sun in Mercury’s signs, and even more so if angular, this may be a really challenging month! The feelings, anxiety, and sensory from intuitive intensification can be too much for highly sensitive individuals. If you have learned a go-to protocol for your unique approach to reducing stress and calming your anxiety, this is likely a period of time you will be engaging it.
Mars in Taurus at 5 degrees 54 minutes is applying to a conjunction with Uranus and a square with Saturn in Aquarius. Additional intense energy that needs a productive outlet in slow and steady Taurus. If you
Uranus is within one degree of the North Node – the dragons head (opposite the South Node (the dragon’s tail) in Scorpio), and when Uranus exacts (July 26th) with the nodes there is a potential “earthquake” type of experiencing that leaves us shaken for what we must let go, but also to really understand our potential for peace in the storm because we have friends, allies of our hearts, that bring us back to our silly when we need it, or a simple joke, or clever pun. Friends that are with us in the thick of the storms, with an icy drink, or a hot meal, and open heart listening. Say a little mantra of gratitude for these friends you have and adore.
Neptune in Pisces at 25 degrees 22 minutes (retrograde) is trine the Sun-Mercury conjunction. This feels like a really great combination of water energy (yin) to build a new playlist or appreciate art that moves you deeply as there will be a volume of emotional energy to “feel alive” even if it stings a little. Music will be the wise choice for high vibrations that keep you afloat. Remember to share what you compile with your friends, life is made better by sharing the small joys we find along the way.
I think this quote by Helen Keller really sums up this Full Moon sharing quite well,
“The struggle of life is one of our greatest blessings. It makes us patient, sensitive, and Godlike. It teaches us that although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” – Helen Keller
May you return to music when everything else feels too much. Namaste. Bless this moment.
