Friday, December 19, 2025, at 5:43 pm PST, the last new moon of 2025 is at 28 degrees 24’ of Sagittarius on the Galactic Center. This new moon brings more chaos with Saturn and Neptune in their final sweeps of Pisces are strongly square in aspect which for all is a challenging aspect. Neptune is really amplifying the Pisces surrender theme and boundaries (including levees) dissolve with this much water element, with an amplification also with Jupiter in Cancer at 22 degrees and still retrograde. This puts a big wet mess on the fire elements of Sagittarius. It can feel overwhelming. For many in the Pacific Northwest, this is a historical moment of flooding. It will force many to rebuild not only houses, business, and public facilities, but it will require a huge community effort to get through the coming months. Where might we look for the reprieve of this overwhelm? We start with the community and take care of each other right where we are.
The fire element is strong with this new moon. This new moon is out of bounds which heightens its chaotic feeling. A good metaphor for a visual on this new moon is like a bit of desperation to find the heat, it is like having wet matches and when you are desperately trying to start a fire. This new moon is challenged by the deluge of the water element. Remember, we experience this together in the flooding of our communities, even if your home is not directly affected, the community is, your state is and the resources needed to help recover from the water damage. As a gentle reminder this record-breaking flooding is also an indicator of collective consciousness rising. Great floods are simultaneously a reminder of a rise in consciousness, the deeper truth we know as above and so below. Where else have you learned about a great flood? Sometimes you have to look deeper than what you have been taught (shared many years ago, but this is a gem of short video). Our environment reflects our collective consciousness in ways that many people do not remember. The north node and south node of the moon in Pisces-Virgo at 12 degrees are in a square aspect with Mercury in Sagittarius at 10 degrees. This aspect for transiting Mercury applying to the lunar nodes in Pisces-Virgo presents strong energy for changing dynamics which include perception, beliefs, and communications. Mutable signs are all about the impermanence of things. We think many things are solid in this experience but we are in the midst of a few years of such great changes, especially in the United States. The mutable signs remind us that in between the seasons is great change. Not only are we at the end of the fall season just before the winter solstice on December 21st (see chart below), we have significant planetary transits that are also symbolic of the great changes we are navigating at this time. As I have mentioned in earlier writings, this period of great change is highlighting the end of an era and the beginning of another.
In early 2026, Saturn and Neptune will begin a new cycle in Aries on the Aries Point, a critical degree in astrology. This is extremely rare. It is also extremely rare that we have an interstellar object making such a uniquely powerful pass through our solar system. As of this new moon 3iATLAS is closest to the earth on its way toward Jupiter. It is passing through the sign of Leo, another fire sign. Leo is the sign of royalty, kings and queens, but perhaps even more importantly the sign of the heart. 3iATLAS is one of the most unique events of 2025 for us to consider ourselves in this immense universe. We get these wonderful phenomena that in many ways give us clues about who we are in the vastness. These events are signals of our changing paradigm. When 3iATLAS reaches Jupiter in mid March, it will be at the very time that Jupiter will be stationing direct at 15 degrees Cancer (exaltation). It is hard to ignore the precision of the trajectory from July 1, 2025 through December 19th (this new moon), and the point of its passing Jupiter in March 2026 just after the new phase of Saturn-Neptune in Aries starts. This is beyond fascinating to me the perfection of it all. What is emerging is beyond anything we have ever known, about ourselves, and who we really are, that is Jupiter in Cancer – what is our HOME, who we are and our becoming. At the same time we are discovering that we face-off with unprecedented challenges of our own creation. This includes artificial intelligence, and our systems that are failing and will have to change to work within a new system, the one that is emerging. Remain hopeful, and diligent for the well being of our communities. Remember, this new moon is a new moon out of bounds in Sagittarius, the sign of the archer, the sign of the foreigner, of long distance travel, the philosopher, teacher, and beliefs. What the masses have been taught for centuries includes a great illusion, one symbolism of Pisces, but that era is falling away as the new one emerges. When Saturn and Neptune unite in Aries it is such a significant new beginning and it will be so deep within the context of how we think, perceive, communicate, knowing we are both the fall from grace and grace embodied within our very being. Aries is raw instinctive energy, it is the pure energy beginning. What emerges can be immensely pioneering! Mars in Capricorn now is the energy impulse of the raw energy of building, and building with great intention and strategy. Pluto in Aquarius is our ongoing transformation with technology, the rebellion that emerges when systems or collective ideas collapse, and what is required to rebuild comes through Saturn. Uranus in Taurus at 28 degrees actively connects with the midpoint of Saturn-Neptune in Pisces within a sextile, a reminder of the significantly changing landscapes. Uranus in Taurus is completed by April 25th of 2026, when the shift into Gemini brings a great speed of change that happens within ideas that deeply transform, to new railways, roads, and communities (Gemini).
The amount of losses will be felt through the planetary transit of Venus in Sagittarius at 24 degrees as it immediately moves to square Saturn at 25 degrees and Neptune at 29 degrees Pisces. Finding what one is grateful for even in the wake of the changes is an act of love. It is these moments that we realize we are together in whatever will emerge in 2026. Our courage and centered hearts will bring us once more to solid ground. It is the holiday season, a sobering one around the Pacific Northwest for so many. Where might service be needed to help? This will be the responsible response (Saturn) that embodies the humanitarian (Pisces). It may be a moment of humble recognition of our true need for one another. Is this the message from within that perhaps 3iATLAS is also providing from its timing in our ending era? It seems so perfectly timed, as if all is in order. Namaste. Bless this moment.
